Frankensteins Window

As you can see on my website, the last few images where all from my phone. I was in a little bit of a creative camera crisis, as I wanted to take pictures with my camera, but didn’t see the point. I resolved my crisis by realizing, that I must edit my camera photos, so that they can really show their potential. So I started to play around with HDR merging, a technique, every modern phone does automatically.

The image shown is one of the first successful uses of this technique for me. It is composed of several images, some over, some under and some correctly exposed. Add some minor editing on top, and you get a very interesting image.

The view is from the tower of castle Frankenstein near Darmstadt. The name stems from the family Frankenstein, which lived there for centuries and there may be the chance that Frankensteins’ monster is named after this castle, as the author was in a village near it before writing the famous book.
