Cozy November walk
This photo was taken by my current phone, the iPhone 12 mini. After using a standard Android phone for years, the step to it was immense in terms of photo quality. I found myself taking quite a few pictures with it. It’s not as good as my normal camera, but the form factor and ease of use mean I shoot more often. This photo was taken on a sunny November day on a small walk with my girlfriend around her home village....
Tram in the dark
This photograph nearly was forgotten, until I looked through my archive to find something to hang on my wall. When I took this photo, I wasn’t impressed but after revisiting it a year later, I found it quite good, edited it and ordered a big print with a frame. The image stabilization of my G9 really helped with this photo, as the shutter speed was set to one second and I didn’t have a tripod on hand....
Beautiful Swiss Alps I
Driving up a mountain is often worth it. Exhibit A: Just look at this picture. (And pay respects to the guy driving up on his bike instead of a car.) Gear and settings used for this image: Panasonic G9 Panasonic Lumix G Vario 12-60mm f3.5-5.6 49mm, f11, 1/125s, ISO 200 Captured in RAW, edited with Affinity Photo
Black White Blue Red
A rather simple picture with the classic “black and white with some colored parts” edit. I just wanted to try this out and thought this photo might look way more exiting this way. I could have done a better job recoloring it, don’t zoom in too much. ;) Gear and settings used for this image: Panasonic G9 Panasonic G25 25mm f1.7 25mm, f1.7, 1/400s, ISO 200 Captured in RAW, edited with Affinity Photo
Building in Berlin
This image was taken on my last trip before the pandemic. I was on a trip to Berlin to visit a friend and go to a concert. Three days later you weren’t allowed to do nearly anything anymore. I can’t really say why I like this picture, as it doesn’t show anything special. Probably this is what makes it so appealing? Gear and settings used for this image: Panasonic G9 Panasonic 12-60mm f3....
Sunset above H_DA
This image was taken from my balcony of my old flat in Darmstadt. I sometimes miss the view, because you could sometimes see really beautiful sunsets. The one captured in this photo was by far the best. Gear and settings used for this image: Panasonic G9 Panasonic 12-60mm f3.5 60mm, f5.6, 1/100s, ISO 400 Captured in RAW, edited with Affinity Photo
Stars instead of roses
This image was taken at the locally famous Rosenhöhe in Darmstadt, Germany. In summer, it’s the home of many roses in a beautiful garden, but at this time of the year I could only find beautiful stars. Although my girlfriend and I were freezing to death at around -8 degrees Celsius, the view was worth the hassle. Gear and settings used for this image: Panasonic G9 Laowa 7.5mm f2.0 7.5mm, f2....
First catch of the Milky Way
This image notes the first time I successfully captured the Milky Way. I used the new to me Laowa 7.5mm 2.0, which can deliver really nice images of the sky, even on my small 4/3 sensor. This image was taken in rhineland-palatinate besides a small road on a clear Saturday evening in October. Gear and settings used for this image: Panasonic G9 Laowa 7.5mm f2.0 7.5mm, f2.0, 30s, ISO 400 Captured in RAW, edited with Affinity Photo
